A general rule: when in doubt, use a longer delay rather than a shorter one. Asking too late produces fewer reviews; asking too early produces worse reviews.

  • A status field that excludes certain workflow states from triggering
  • A separate review-eligibility field that has to be confirmed before the request fires
  • Time-based exclusions (don't request from customers in the past 30 days who already received a request)
